This painting was inspired by the artist David Hockney. I wanted to create a scene from everyday life, similar to how he paints people and moments around him. The painting shows my siblings eating together, but one of them is using his phone like an “iPad kid.” Through this work, I wanted to show how the experience of eating together has changed compared to before.
I painted my bearded dragon, Mushu, to show different parts of me. I broke him into shapes and colors to show feelings like calmness, strength, and other emotions that change inside me.
I used acrylic to show movement and texture the painting isn’t realistic its more about how I feel. Mushu became a symbol of my emotions and memories. This work is personal and shows things I can’t explain with words.
